The Linen Shack

Online Boutique Linen Supplier.

THE LINEN SHACK

thelinenshack.au@gmail.com

Melbourne, VIC, Australia

Best for Light, medium and heavy-weight linen fabrics at a reasonable price, pure Linen, printed linen, custom printing on linen…

The Linen Shack is an online shop in Melbourne specialising in linen for apparel.

They have a wide range of linen in classic to modern colours and have lovely floral prints at a very reasonable price. Most weigh around 150gsm, an extremely versatile weight for dresses, tops, dresses, and loose pants. They offer heavy-weight thick linen for light upholstery purposes and thicker clothing. One thing that not many linen stores offer but The Linen Shack does is custom printing on their linen fabric at MOQ as low as 5 meters. Occasionally, they will offer fantastic quality deadstock at bargain prices that you cannot find elsewhere.

Established in 2022, The Linen Shack has received many 5-star reviews on the excellent fabric quality and the service the shop offers. If you love Linen - The Linen Shack is a must-visit.

Drapers Fabrics

drapersfabrics.com/linen

Melbourne, Auckland, and online

Best for: High-quality linen

Drapers specialises in ethically produced, natural fibres, including organic fabrics and designer-ready gems. They have a wide range of linens in solid colours, plaid, plaid, and pattern prints.

You'll find some high-quality fabrics at Drapers – overall, I find the price for quality to be excellent. Because they buy so many designer goods, their inventory comes and goes, and once it's gone, it's often gone forever.

Maai Design

https://www.maaidesign.com.au/

Online

Best for: A broad range of linen

With an environmentally responsible sourcing philosophy and a tightly and tastefully curated collection of dressmaking fabrics, Maai Design, is one of my favourites.

They stock a great range of natural fibres, including contemporary coloured linen, solid colours, stripes, checks, and prints. You'll find several different weights and finishes, such as crinkle and washed.

Many of their fabric basics are GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) or Oeko-Tex certified, so bonus points are there.

Linen Things

https://lnt.com/

Unit 16/83 Mell Road, Spearwood

Best for: High-quality European upholstery.

If you are looking for classic European upholstery, Linen Things is a small but high-quality boutique range.

You can buy their fabric by the meter directly from their Spearwood showroom outside Perth or their online store. I usually purchase linen from their wholesale branch, Pure Linen. The quality, colours, and customer service are always excellent.

At 540gsm, you can be sure that linen will withstand most of the friction that causes fabric wear and tear. However, the price reflects this at over $200/meter.

Potter & Co

potterandco.com.au

Perth

Best for: A variety of linens in a variety of weights and colours

Meet Lola, Lara, Lilly, and Louise - this is not the staff; this is the name of the fabrics! These baby girls are just a few of Potter & Co's bedding sets in adorable colours and various weights.

Their linen prices are reasonable, averaging $25 to $30 per meter. You can also purchase a sample card for each template that shows all available colours.

Model Pulling Ao Dai

patternscissorsfrock.com.au/linen

Online

Best for: A beautifully curated range of apparel linens, including Merchant & Mills

Pattern Scissors Frock is a relatively new brand in the fabric industry in Melbourne. Among other beautiful fabrics, they offer a unique selection of linen fabrics.

The collection includes solid linen in modern colours with traditional finishes and another series with gorgeous antique washes. You'll also find chambray linen (which is usually challenging to find), along with the ever-popular Merchant and Mills linen collection.
